J.P. van Eesteren is a leading construction company with a rich history dating back to 1932. Specializing in the development, construction, and renovation of offices, hospitals, schools, and other utility projects, the company plays a key role in shaping the built environment. As part of TBI, J.P. van Eesteren combines craftsmanship with innovation to create sustainable and future-proof buildings.
J.P. van Eesteren sought support in further developing their sustainability strategy, with a specific focus on the Environmental (E) component. We assisted in integrating the requirements of the EU Taxonomy and CSRD, ensuring the strategy not only complies with regulations but also contributes to sustainable impact within the construction sector.
The process consisted of two major steps. First, we conducted a review of J.P. van Eesteren’s existing strategic framework. This was based on an external analysis, in which we examined clients, competitors, sector initiatives, and relevant legislation.
Next, we defined the final strategic framework. During executive sessions, we established the level of ambition and developed concrete objectives and KPIs for each theme. This laid a solid foundation for a sustainability strategy aligned with the Taxonomy and CSRD requirements.
The strategic framework was developed with three overarching pillars and six underlying strategic themes. For each theme, J.P. van Eesteren’s ambition was defined, along with concrete objectives and KPIs. This provides the company with a clear and measurable foundation for further embedding sustainability into its operations.
“In seven years, we’ll celebrate our 100th anniversary, and by then we want to build 100% sustainably. This clear strategic framework helps us go all in!”
