Koninklijk Hibin is a leading network organization in the building materials industry, specializing in representing and supporting building materials dealers. The company promotes the development of sustainable and innovative solutions for the construction sector. Koninklijk Hibin is involved in collective bargaining, advocacy, and lobbying, and offers advice and support in the areas of legislation and regulations, social affairs, knowledge development, logistics, sustainability, circularity, and ICT/digitization. With a focus on professionalization and knowledge sharing, Koninklijk Hibin contributes to the progress and sustainability of the building materials sector.
About the project
For Koninklijk Hibin, we organized a series of three in-person workshops to support members and share knowledge about the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) laws and regulations. These sessions were designed to thoroughly prepare members for the requirements and processes associated with the CSRD.
Work
The first session focused on providing basic information about the CSRD, explaining its content, requirements, and implications for members.
The second session focused on developing a detailed step-by-step plan for CSRD reporting. This plan outlined each step of the reporting process, the actions to be taken, and the party responsible. A practical approach was taken using a fictional building materials wholesaler as an example, during which the members carried out the initial steps for CSRD reporting to gain hands-on insight.
The third session built on the example of the fictional building materials wholesaler and covered the final steps of CSRD reporting, including the conduct of a double materiality analysis (DMA). A data request sheet was also presented for collecting data on the material topic E5 — Raw Materials — from suppliers.
Result
These workshops have provided Koninklijk Hibin and its members with practical guidance and in-depth knowledge to help them comply with the CSRD.
The CSRD legislation and regulations are a complex and extensive document, making it difficult to identify the underlying theme and develop a practical approach. 2BHonest has provided us with excellent support by presenting the steps of the CSRD in a practical and clear manner.
