About the client
Rensa Family is an international family of wholesalers and has been a household name in the installation industry for 70 years. A company of specialists. “Making sure everything turns out right” is in our DNA.
About the project
The CSRD requires companies to report more transparently on sustainability issues such as climate, working conditions, and corporate responsibility. For Rensa Family, an important first step is to conduct a dual materiality analysis. The results of this analysis provide insight into the specific reporting requirements and form the basis for the next steps. Rensa Family asked us to support them in this process, in which the company itself played an active role in the implementation.
Work
We supported Rensa Family in conducting an internal and external analysis to identify the key ESG themes in the sector. Rensa Family conducted these analyses on its own, using our tools and quality assurance guidelines as a reference.
To validate the ESG themes, we jointly interviewed internal and external stakeholders and compiled a shortlist. We conducted the first four interviews together, after which Rensa Family took over the rest independently using our tools.
We took an active role in the workshops on impact assessment and financial materiality, given the complexity of this step. In this way, we ensured that Rensa Family has a solid foundation for further sustainability efforts and reporting.
Result
This project resulted in Rensa Familys first dual materiality matrix and provided clear insight into the topics that must be reported on in accordance with the CSRD. With this foundation, Rensa Family can focus its efforts on further sustainability initiatives and transparent reporting.
