About the client
As a network company, Alliander is responsible for the distribution of electricity and (bio)gas. To ensure that energy is supplied efficiently and reliably to more than three million consumers and businesses, Alliander focuses on developing sustainable and innovative solutions to ensure a future-proof energy grid.
About the project
Alliander asked 2BHonest to identify risks related to labor, human rights, and the environment in preparation for complying with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) in 2027.
Work
We supported Alliander by first mapping out relevant value chains. We then identified risks through a risk scan and interviews with internal and external stakeholders. We prioritized these risks based on their salience and developed an action plan for both the short and long term to mitigate them.
Result
These insights enable Alliander to accurately identify risks in its own operations, supply chains, and business relationships and to implement a robust supply chain accountability process. This leads to efforts to reduce and prevent these risks in the future.
