About the client
Enexis is a Dutch grid operator that supplies homes and businesses in the northern, eastern, and southern parts of the Netherlands with electricity and gas. By working to build and maintain stable and reliable grids, Enexis plays a crucial role in the energy transition.
About the project
Starting in 2027, Enexis must comply with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive ( CSDDD). Enexis asked 2BHonest to assess the requirements and work together to develop an action plan.
Work
The first step was to identify the greatest risks related to human rights, labor rights, and the environment within the value chain for cables, gas pipelines, transformers, and construction. Using a combination of desk research and stakeholder dialogues, we conducted a risk assessment based on severity and likelihood.
Next, based on the influence that Enexis can exert within the supply chain, we considered what mitigating actions could be taken to reduce the impact. Finally, we translated this into a concrete action plan that Enexis can use to immediately begin ensuring due diligence within the organization.
Result
Thanks to this approach, Enexis now has a clear overview of the greatest risks within its value chain and a concrete action plan to comply with the CSDDD requirements. This enables the company to take targeted steps toward responsible and sustainable business practices.
