ESG Legislation

Clarity in ESG legislation

In the rapidly changing landscape of ESG legislation and regulations, it is crucial for organisations not only to react, but to anticipate proactively. New requirements regarding sustainability, transparency and reporting are emerging at a rapid pace. This calls for clarity: which rules are relevant to your organisation, both now and in the future?

A Sustainability Legislative Scan offers exactly that. We identify which laws and regulations apply to your organisation, and what changes are on the horizon. This allows you to prepare in good time, make strategic choices and align your governance accordingly. No legal maze, but a clear roadmap for future-proof policy.

We help organisations get to grips with their legal context and translate complex requirements into concrete action points. With insight, structure and an approach that fits your ambitions.

Get started

This is how we do it – your own action plan in three steps

1. Screening

It starts with insight. We break down the complex world of European sustainability legislation into manageable elements. From the EU Taxonomy to the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD) and Fit for 55. We ensure that, as an organisation, you understand what is required. And where you stand at present: together, we identify the organisation’s relevant (primary) economic activities, for example, for the EU Taxonomy

2. Performance

We translate and/or simplify relevant criteria and test these within the organisation. This is how we determine the level of compliance: are norms, rules, standards or expectations being met? We provide fact-based information on sustainability initiatives. Are you setting ambitious goals? With our support, you can set them with confidence. We challenge you to set the sustainability bar as high as possible.

3. Roadmap: in action

Based on the latest sustainability legislation, we guide your organisation towards actions that can be implemented immediately. We identify the key gaps in implementation and reporting, and draw up an action plan to close these. With carbon reduction targets in line with the climate agreement (SBTi standard) and CSRD-proof. And with a Roadmap full of building blocks and steps to make your organisation fully sustainable. Sustainable for the long term.

New European legislation often has a direct impact on processes, responsibilities and decision-making within organisations. By understanding changes in good time, you can strategically mitigate risks and make choices that align with your long-term strategy.

An omnibus proposal is a package of legislative proposals that amends several existing EU legal instruments at the same time, usually within the same policy area.

In 2025, the European Commission announced ten such proposals, including in the areas of sustainability reporting and environmental legislation.

A European regulation applies immediately and in the same way across all EU Member States.

A European directive sets out objectives that Member States must transpose into national law themselves, whilst having some freedom in how they implement them. Member States can choose the form and means of implementation.
