J.P. van Eesteren is a leading construction company with a rich history dating back to 1932. Specializing in the development, construction, and renovation of offices, hospitals, schools, and other commercial projects, the company plays a key role in the built environment. J.P. van Eesteren is part of TBI and combines craftsmanship with innovation to create sustainable and future-proof buildings.
About the project
J.P. van Eesteren sought support in further developing its sustainability strategy, with a specific focus on the Environment (E) component. We helped integrate the requirements of the EU Taxonomy and the CSRD so that the strategy not only complies with regulations but also contributes to sustainable impact within the construction sector.
Work
The process consisted of two major steps. First, we conducted a review of the strategic framework already developed by J.P. van Eesteren. We did this based on an external analysis, in which we examined clients, competitors, industry initiatives, and relevant laws and regulations.
We then defined the final strategic framework. During executive board meetings, we established our level of ambition and developed specific objectives and KPIs for each theme. In doing so, we laid a solid foundation for a sustainable strategy that aligns with the Taxonomy and CSRD requirements.
Result
The strategic framework has been developed around three overarching pillars and six underlying strategic themes. For each theme, the ambition for J.P. van Eesteren has been defined, and specific objectives and KPIs have been developed. This provides the company with a clear and measurable foundation for making its business operations more sustainable.
In seven years, we’ll be celebrating our 100th anniversary, and by then we want to be building 100% sustainably. This clear strategic framework helps us go all out — 100%!
