About the client
Travel worry-free — that’s what has been a leader in the industry for over 35 years. With a team of more than 1,400 employees across some 40 locations in the northern and eastern Netherlands, Wensink helps customers get from A to B. The offering includes new and used vehicles from brands such as Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, smart, and FUSO, in addition to a wide range of sales and service offerings. Sustainability plays an important role in this and is embedded in the business operations of Wensink.
About the project
To ensure they were well prepared for CSRD reporting, Wensink asked us for assistance. We conducted a dual materiality analysis to identify the most important sustainability issues.
Work
We began the project with a two-pronged materiality analysis. By analyzing competitors, industry initiatives, and certifications, we identified the key sustainability themes for Wensink. We then expanded on these insights through interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
During two workshops, we assessed and prioritized the themes. One of the most important material themes turned out to be CO₂ emissions within our own operations and value chain. Over the coming year, we will be working to gain a clear understanding of our CO₂ emissions.
Result
The project resulted in a clear overview of the substantive issues and a concrete action plan that Wensink can use to get started.
The CSRD and strategy project helps Wensink focus on the most important sustainability risks and opportunities.
