Smart technology, less waste! Hydratec Industries aims to contribute to the growing global demand for food, health, and mobility in a sustainable way. To this end, the publicly traded technology company develops and supplies industrial systems and high-tech components that contribute to efficiency and sustainability. Its core activities are carried out by companies such as Lan, Royal Pas Reform, Rollepaal, Helvoet, and Timmerije.
About the project
With the introduction of the CSRD, Hydratec sought a partner who could guide them in complying with the new sustainability reporting requirements. We supported them throughout the entire process: from the dual materiality analysis to the design and development of the sustainability report.
Since then, our collaboration has expanded. We continue to support Hydratec with the implementation of ESG across the different companies in the group. This includes updating the double materiality assessment, conducting due diligence, developing and monitoring action plans and further improving ESG data collection.
Our approach
We started with a double materiality assessment to identify Hydratec’s most relevant sustainability topics. Based on these insights, we developed an effective sustainability strategy, including policies, objectives and concrete actions. We also supported Hydratec with data collection and calculations on topics such as its carbon footprint and circularity. These different elements formed the basis for Hydratec’s sustainability reporting.
As a next step, we supported Hydratec with the further implementation of ESG. We updated the double materiality assessment and helped the different companies develop and implement their action plans. We also monitor progress and discuss where priorities or actions need to be adjusted.
We also support Hydratec with due diligence. For key material flows, including steel, aluminium and plastics, we identify the most important negative impacts and connect these to the double materiality assessment and existing actions within the sustainability strategy.
In addition, we support the different companies in further improving ESG data collection and monitoring. During regular sessions, we discuss progress on objectives and action plans and translate relevant market developments and European and Dutch legislation into practice. We also provide support at holding level on topics such as action plans and data collection.
Result
Hydratec has further embedded sustainability into its operations and reporting. Building on the initial double materiality assessment, sustainability strategy and integrated annual report, a more structured approach has been developed in which the different companies work towards concrete objectives and actions. By monitoring progress and continuing to translate new developments into practice, ESG is increasingly embedded across the group.
The CSRD has helped us gain a better understanding of our organization’s sustainability proposition. 2BHonest has helped us familiarize ourselves with this legislation, resulting in our first integrated annual report.
